A research team led by LIFS/CBE Assoc. Prof. WANG Jiguang has discovered a previously overlooked subtype of brain tumor termed IME IDH-mutant astrocytoma. In addition, the team has developed an AI framework to help doctors identify this subtype accurately, enabling more personalized patient care.
Co-organized by HKUST, Future Science Awards Foundation and Hong Kong Academy of Sciences, the "Science and Technology Forum", the opening event of the 2025 Future Science Prize Week, was held on October 22. A team led by ECE Asst. Prof. PAN Ling has developed ROVER, a novel AI training method based on a special structure of mathematical reasoning. The model evaluates random strategies and enables more stable training, significantly enhancing problem-solving diversity and accuracy.

SCHWARZMAN, Chairman, CEO, and Co-Founder of Blackstone (Doctor of Business Administration honoris causa).
