The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) warmly welcomed a delegation from Macquarie University, Australia, on April 10, to campus, to enhance academic and research collaborations between the two institutions. The delegation comprised Prof. Simon HANDLEY, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Graduate Research), Dr. Louise DWYER, Operations Director of Graduate Research, and Hedda PAISLEY, Executive Director of Philanthropy and Alumni Relations.

The Macquarie University delegation engaged in productive discussions with Prof. Kar Yan TAM, Vice-President for Administration and Business and Acting Vice-President for Institutional Advancement, and HKUST representatives, including Prof. Stuart Arthur GIETEL-BASTEN, Associate Dean (Research) of Humanities and Social Science; Prof. Stephen SHIH, Associate Dean (MBA Programs); and Margaret CHAU, Head (Research & Graduate Studies Administration) from the School of Engineering. The discussions centered around exploring potential collaborations in student mobility programs, dual degree initiatives, and joint research ventures. These dialogues underscored the joint commitment of both universities to uphold academic excellence and foster global engagement.

HKUST is committed to advancing these partnerships to unlock new opportunities for students and researchers, fostering a dynamic environment of knowledge exchange and innovation across institutions.
