BizInsight@HKUST Forum Examines the Future of Chinese Family Businesses
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology School of Business and Management (HKUST Business School) hosted a BizInsight@HKUST Luncheon Forum on 13 September 2017. The forum featured scholars in the field of family business studies and a dynamic group of next generation leaders to discuss the future of Chinese family businesses. Over 160 business leaders, professionals working for family businesses and guests from the HKUST community also gathered to honor the renewed donation from the Tanoto Foundation to the HKUST’s Tanoto Center for Asian Family Business and Entrepreneurship Studies.

Three distinguished individuals, Prof Cheng Shiu Yuen, Ms Anita Fung and Mr John B Harrison, were conferred Honorary Fellowships by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). Officiating at the ceremony were the Honorable Andrew Liao Cheung-sing, Chairman of HKUST Council and Prof Tony F Chan, President of HKUST.

Since the establishment of the BDI in 2016, its first Big Data and AI Day drew a learned audience of over 500 guests, including local and overseas academics, leaders in the Big Data and AI-related industries, as well as students from various tertiary institutions in Hong Kong and abroad. The overwhelming attendance attested to the key role of HKUST's research in these fields.
