Joint partnership to drive education and technology collaborations in GBA and Vietnam.

Live-streamed from Hong Kong, the 3rd APRU MetaGame Conference concluded on 27 August, 2022 to a resounding success, during which academics and industry experts discussed policies, challenges and opportunities on the development of esports in higher education. In partnership with The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and hosted by Cyberport, APRU MetaGame Conference 2022 brought together leading scholars and industry experts from North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, and were joined by over 2,000 participants from over 230 countries and regions.  

The MoU will drive collaborations covering industry insight sharing, internship and employment opportunities, as well as joint efforts on industrial research.

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MTR Corporation and MTR Academy on the establishment of the “HKUST-MTR Joint Research Laboratory” today. This is the first-ever research laboratory the Corporation has set up with an institution of higher education. The Corporation hopes to promote the application of innovative technology in railway and other services through the collaboration with HKUST’s GREAT Smart Cities Institute, thereby achieving the aim of encouraging local scientific research and building a smart community.
